Frequently Asked Questions for Creators
Everything you need to know about creating content on Let'sJaleo: activities, experiences, images, review process and gamification.
🚀Getting Started
It's the panel where local experts create and manage tourism content: activities (places or points of interest), experiences (full one-day itineraries) and blog posts. All the content you create is published on letsjaleo.com once approved.
Click "Sign Up" at the top of this page. Enter your name, email and password. You'll receive a verification code by email. Once verified, you can access your dashboard and start creating content.
No, being a creator on Let'sJaleo is completely free. There are no subscription fees or commissions. You create content, gain visibility and climb the expert ranking.
Create your content in your preferred language (Spanish or English recommended). Our system automatically translates it into the 8 languages available on the platform (Spanish, English, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Japanese and Chinese).
✏️Creating Content
An activity is a specific point of interest or place: a monument, restaurant, viewpoint, museum, park, etc. It includes a name, description, exact address, opening hours, price range, activity type and a representative image. Activities are the building blocks for experiences.
An experience is a complete one-day itinerary that combines 3 to 8 activities in a city. It includes a suggested order, estimated times, traveller profile (Cultural, Foodie, Family, etc.) and a narrative description. It's your main product as a creator.
Go to Activities → Create New. Fill in the form: name, city, address, narrative description, activity type, price range, opening and closing hours, and select an image from Pexels or upload your own. Click "Save" and it will be sent for review.
Go to Experiences → Create New. You'll first need activities created in the same city. Fill in: title, city, traveller profile, description, estimated duration, and image. Then select the activities that form the itinerary and arrange them in order. Click "Save" to submit for review.
Go to Blog → Create New. Choose a title, category, city (optional), and write your article using the markdown editor. You can add a cover image. Blog articles help position the platform and give visibility to your experiences.
📸Images
You have three options when uploading an image: Pexels (built-in search for free licensed photos), external URL (paste an image URL) or upload file from your device. We recommend using Pexels to ensure image quality and licensing.
Use images that faithfully represent the place or activity. For restaurants, look for the signature dish or the facade. For monuments, an iconic photo. Avoid generic stock images that don't match the actual site. High-resolution, landscape-oriented images work best.
Yes, you can request an edit from the activity or experience page. The change will go through review. The previous image remains visible until the edit is approved, to avoid disrupting published content.
✅Review Process
When you create or edit content, it moves to "Pending review" status. The Let'sJaleo team reviews that the content is accurate, well-written and meets the guidelines. If approved, it's published automatically. If rejected, you'll receive feedback to make corrections.
Reviews are generally completed within 48 hours. New content and minor edits are usually approved faster.
Check the reviewer's comments on the entity's page. Make the requested corrections and resubmit. Rejections are usually due to incomplete descriptions, unrepresentative images or inaccurate data.
Yes, you can request modifications to any published activity, experience or blog post. The edit creates a proposal that goes through review. Meanwhile, the current version remains visible to users.
🏆Gamification & Levels
You earn points mainly through user interaction with your content: +5 points per like, +8 points per save, +15 points per experience completed by a user. You also earn points for creating content: +10 per published activity, +25 per published experience, +15 per blog post.
There are 5 levels: Explorer (0-99 pts), Local (100-499 pts), Expert (500-1999 pts), Master (2000-4999 pts) and Legend (5000+ pts). Each level unlocks a different icon on your public profile and showcases your experience as a creator.
Badges are special achievements that recognise milestones: "First experience", "10 activities created", "100 likes received", "Polyglot" (content in 3+ languages), etc. They're displayed on your public profile and demonstrate your track record as a creator.
The ranking orders all creators by total points. It's displayed publicly on the experts page at letsjaleo.com. There are also city-specific rankings where you can compete to be the #1 expert in your area.
📊Stats & Visibility
Your dashboard shows: total number of published experiences, activities and blog posts, total likes, saves and experiences completed by users, your current level, accumulated points and unlocked badges.
When a user starts one of your experiences and completes at least 50% of the activities, it counts as a "run" in your stats. Each run gives you +15 points.
Create quality content with detailed and narrative descriptions, use attractive and representative images, cover different traveller profiles, and keep information up to date. The more interactions you receive (likes, saves, runs), the more visible your content will be on the platform.
